Bedford
Judo Club Dan Grading
Another
Senior grading and two more players from the club accelerated
their cause with
promotions into and within the black belt system.
Joe
Dowling furthering his cause towards his 2nd Dan, achieved
another 10 points.
Steven
Bentham despatching 2 players with a formidable Sangaku
Gatame and going on to achieve his required wins to promote
to 1st Dan.
'Paddy'
Dowling - Has promoted from 4th Kyu to 1st Dan since February
this Year, 'Paddy' has shown his worth
with gaining a tremendous achievement by completing his
line-up with apparent ease to promote to 2nd Dan (Subject
to theory exam).
Our
Club player of the day however by unanimous vote from all
Senior club members in attendance was Danny
Mulhall. This was Dannys 1st Senior Grading. Although being
the youngest and lightest player at the grading, attending
as a Junior Blue belt, he left as a Senior 2nd Kyu. With
Devastating form he sent his opponents for an 'early bath'.
Congratulations
fellas.

Bedford
Judo Club Dan Grading
In
the space of 7 weeks during February, March & April
2005 two more players from the club accelerated their cause
with promotions into the black belt system.
On
12 March '05 Paddy Dowling, Craig Antink & Joe Dowling
travelled to the Bedford Club Dan
Grading.
Having
only just proved his high standards of achievement at last
months Midland Area Senior Grading at Walsall, Paddy showed
them all at Bedford what ability he has. He achieved a maximum
score of 5 wins from 5 contests and a 100% maximum points
score to achieve his contest wins for his black belt. This
achievement became more special to “Paddy” as
he was a blue belt in mid February this year.
Joe
scored 2 wins and 17pts towards his 2nd Dan. Craig totted
up another 10pts to point him towards his 1st Dan.
Midland
Area Combined Dan Grading
On
3 April '05 Paddy Dowling, Craig Antink, Steven Bentham,
Luke Bradley, Peter
Waitland & Joe
Dowling travelled to the Midland
Area Combined Dan Grading.
It
was the turn of Craig Antink to show a clean pair of heels
to everyone else this time. Craig completed
his Line-up for his promotion to 1st Dan with both confidence
and style. Despatched is probably the best way to describe
his 100% contest wins results.
Further
Points accumulating towards their Dan grades were also
recorded
by Peter Waitland, Luke Bradley, Joe Dowling & Steven
Bentham.
Congratulations fellas.

13th Feb '05
Midland Area
Senior Grading at Walsall On Sunday 13th February 2005 Six of our senior players attended
the Midland Area combined grading at Walsall judo centre
at the Walsall University campus.
It
proved to be a happy learning curve for most. All 6 players
gave a very good account of themselves.
As can be seen by the results table below, important grades
and Black belt promotion points were achieved in exchange
for
plenty of sweat.
Congratulations to Paul Clode for his looooong wait
for his promotion change to a new colour. Blue
is his colour
of the
month.
Paddy Dowling dispatched all in his path, with a formidable
display to remain unbeaten in his contests, to achieve
his 1st Kyu Brown Belt. So yet another player joins
our happy
throng of club members vying for their coveted black
belt.
Steven Bentham overcame his nervous start, to achieve
his 1st attempt at a black belt line-up. Whilst not
achieving his goal of a 100% result in his contests,
a welcome
20
points was added to his points card.
The move up to 1st
Dan Black belt hasn’t dampened the
efforts of Joe Dowling or Luke Bradley. They proved
to be well capable at their Black belt status, with more
points added to their running totals.
Success obviously breeds success. Well Done Fellas.
